Dependable where it matters.

SATEL-B2 is a power and interface carrier for compatible SATEL radio modules. It accepts a +7 to +27.5 VDC supply, regulates power for the installed module, and exposes the radio through a primary RS-232 data port. A second RS-232 port supports diagnostics and SL commands, while one general-purpose input and one general-purpose output provide additional host control.

The modular design lets equipment manufacturers use the same carrier architecture with different radio modules and mechanical formats. Radio frequency, output power, encryption and regional approval details depend on the installed module and should be checked in that module’s integration guide.

Assembly formats

  • MP1: B2A motherboard with a horizontal female 26-pin header, heat-transfer hardware and mounting screws
  • MP2: MP1 components plus a D15 adapter
  • MP3: B2B motherboard with a vertical male 26-pin header, heat-transfer hardware and mounting screws
  • ME1: Aluminum enclosure with mounting ears, D15 interface and TNC female antenna connector
  • ME2: ME1 configuration with a DIN-rail clip
  • ME3: Enclosed DIN-rail configuration with a BNC female antenna connector

The bare motherboard assembly order codes are YR0000-MP1, YR0000-MP2 and YR0000-MP3. Complete assemblies combine the desired mechanical suffix with a compatible radio-module code. For North American applications, current options include the SATEL-TR4+ YM7470/YM7475 and SATEL-TR489 US/CA YM8820/YM8825 variants.

SATEL-B2 assemblies using SATEL-TR4+, SATEL-TR49, SATEL-TR489 or SATEL-TR300 retain the connector and pinout used by the SATELLINE-M3-TR1, providing a migration path for existing integrations. The SATEL-TR489 combination similarly supports migration from SATELLINE-M3-TR1 869 designs.
